Collaboration for Growth: MYP Edition
Inspired by the Collaboration for Growth conversation started by a group of elementary educators, this version of Collaboration for Growth is comprised of a network of educators working with students ages 11-16. Together, we are responding to shared challenges to learn and grow together to improve student learning.
The network learns and grows together by:
- responding to the needs of our shared learning communities
- being growth and solution oriented
- staying grounded in practice by having shared experiences
- embracing ‘blue sky’ thinking - being brave enough to think of possibility, beyond restrictions, learning without borders
- deprivatizing/un-silo-ing practice
- focusing on learning and pedagogy beyond specific curriculum frameworks/requirements
- structuring our shared time meaningfully
- being honest and vulnerable
- having fun together and being joyous
Collaboration for Growth: MYP Edition is comprised of educators who are:
- ready to grapple with the provocation
- ready to challenge their own thinking
- ready to seek solutions
- ready to share and be vulnerable
- innovators
- ready to grow themselves, their school, and our community
- currently in an MYP context
- able to apply their learning to improving their own growth, their school growth, and our network growth
All members are expected to embody the previous attributes and contribute actively in all levels of the network: planning, leading, and sharing experiences.
